[Everyone's been through a lot, it seems... Onoda has a lot of worries and bad feelings besetting him, and one of them is Midorima's health and safety.]

How are you feeling now?

[The text had actually woken him up, so Onoda probably got a bunch of gibberish sent to him before Midorima finally found his glasses and rubbed the sleep from his eyes.

Well, what little sleep he could get. Thankfully, he got his glasses on soon after and was relieved to see who the sender of the message is.]

I feel terrible.

[Wow, he didn't even try to play it down or anything. His heart sinks at the thought of his condition. It really MUST be bad. Onoda gets a bit more worried.]

Have you been eating properly? Did you get some rest?

[Well for one, Midorima barely had the energy to type properly, much less put up his angry front that he normally has.]

Kuroo won't let me leave the room while i recover
He's tried to make me eat too, but classic signs of starvation mean stomach has shrunk.

I know what you mean... I can't stomach the thought of eating either. But im glad to know you're with someone and taking it easy.

This is stupid. I need to go practice basketball otherwise my condition will drop further.

Kuroo won't let me.

But you have to get your full strength back first... right?

Nonsense. There is no way I will get my full strength back if I lay around here doing nothing!

That may be true, but please try not to push yourself too much. If youre feeling terrible rn maybe you should practice when you feel 'less than good' or something.

Me neither. I always knew the school was dangerous but thanks to what happened i finally understand just how much. Vampire bites just dont compare...

[to losing friends to death. To risking your life and sanity to save them only to fail. To watching them slaughter each other. To being preyed upon by them and other students. To monsters, to dead bodies, to unknown terrors lurking just out of perception's reach.]

[Midorima could barely remember the vampire incident, he'd been so traumitized by what had happened to him in the fifth floor, but it all came rushing back.]

That is why you should stay inside your room and not talk to any strangers. I cannot lend you my maneki neko, as it is protecting Kuroo and me, so we will need to find you a lucky item to curb the effects of this school.

[In his own wierd way, that was Midorima being worried about Onoda's safety.

And he was still going to go to practice.]

[Onoda doesn't really see it as a practical or necessary step to ensuring safety, but... Midorima sincerely believed in his lucky horoscopes. At a time when little was in their control, even the thought of keeping things around for extra luck might be worth some assurance. And who knows? Maybe it worked.]

What kind of item should I look for? Is it based on my star sign?

[To Midorima, such a routine oriented person whose belief system just got entirely uprooted, believing in luck was the only thing he had left. So he just clung to the shreds of it left behind and tried to desperately od the same for the few people who had been kind to him.]

Normally it does. However, I don't have access to the Oha Asa horoscope so I cannot tell you what it is. For now, we will just have to find a generic good luck item like the maneki neko and go from there.
